16:18a When Zimri saw that the city was captured,

When Zimri saw that he had lost the city,

Zimri realized that his enemies had captured the city,

16:18b he entered the citadel of the royal palace and burned it down upon himself.

he went into the fortified part of his royal house and burnt the palace all around him.

and he went into the secure area of the palace. Then he set fire to the palace with him inside,

16:18c So he died

So he died in the fire

and he died in the fire.
