15:5a For David had done what was right in the eyes of the LORD

For David had done those things that were right in the sight of Yahweh.

⌊Yahweh did that⌋ because David had ⌊always⌋ done what pleased Yahweh.

15:5b and had not turned aside from anything the LORD commanded all the days of his life,

All the days of his life, he did not disobey/neglect anything that Yahweh commanded him,

Throughout his entire life David had always obeyed Yahweh.

15:5c except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

except in the case of the Hittite ⌊man⌋ ⌊named⌋ Uriah.

The only time ⌊that he disobeyed Yahweh⌋ concerned Uriah of the Hittite ⌊people⌋.
