1:34a There Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet are to anoint him king over Israel.

There the priest Zadok, with the prophet Nathan, must anoint him ⌊with oil⌋ to make him the new king of Israel.

In that place ⌊God’s⌋ priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan are to pour/drip the sacred oil on him. ⌊In this way they will declare/make him⌋ king over ⌊the nation/people of⌋ Israel.

1:34b You are to blow the ram’s horn and declare, ‘Long live King Solomon!’

Then sound (plur) the horns and say/shout, ‘Live a long life, King Solomon!’

Then let the trumpets sound/ring out! Announce that Solomon is your (plur) ⌊new⌋ king!
