1:15a So Bathsheba went to see the king in his bedroom.

Then Bathsheba went to visit the king in his ⌊own/private⌋ room.

1:15b Since the king was very old, Abishag the Shunammite was serving him.

He was an old/elderly man and Abishag from ⌊the town of⌋ Shunem was serving him there.

He was now in his old age and was/stayed in the room/place where he slept. It was there that ⌊the girl⌋ Abishag from Shunem ⌊town⌋ was taking care of him.
