11:29a During that time, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite met Jeroboam on the road as he was going out of Jerusalem.

⌊One day⌋ during that time, Jeroboam was going/walking out of Jerusalem. The prophet Ahijah from the town of Shiloh found/joined him ⌊as he was walking⌋ on the road,

When Jeroboam was leaving Jerusalem ⌊city⌋ ⌊one day/time⌋, he was met by Ahijah the prophet from Shiloh ⌊city⌋.

11:29b Now Ahijah had wrapped himself in a new cloak,

and Ahijah was wrapped/covered in a new cloak.

Ahijah was wearing a new coat/shawl.

11:29a-b (reordered)

One day soon after Ahijah the prophet from Shiloh put on a new cloak and went to meet/see Jeroboam. He found him ⌊walking⌋ along the road that goes out of Jerusalem.

11:29c and the two of them were alone in the open field.

The two men were alone in the open country.

The two were in a field ⌊outside the city⌋ and no one was there with them.
