26:32a Among Jerijah’s relatives there were 2,700 capable men who were heads of families.

Jerijah and 2,700 of his skilled relatives were the officials in charge of all religious and government business in the Israelite territories east of the Jordan River. The tribes of Reuben, Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh ⌊lived in these territories⌋ .

King David chose Jerijah and two thousand seven hundred (2,700) of his relatives. He chose/selected them to supervise every matter having to do with himself or with God/Yahweh. Jeriah’s relatives were men skilled at leading their own families. They also looked after the ⌊three tribes that lived east of the Jordan river⌋ . ⌊These ⌋ tribes were Reuben and Gad and the eastern half of the tribe of Manasseh.
