Section 26:29-32 Some Levites had duties away from the temple

26:29a From the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons had the outside duties

Chenaiah and his sons ⌊were descendants of Levi’s son Kohath⌋ . They were from the clan of Izhar. They did not work in the temple.

⌊Levi was the father of Kohath. Kohath was the father of Izhar.⌋ From the clan of Izhar, Chenaiah and his sons had/did religious duties/work. But their work was away from the house of Yahweh.

26:29b as officers and judges over Israel.

They served ⌊in the country of⌋ Israel as administrative officers and governors.

They worked as officers and judges over ⌊the people of⌋ Israel.
