Section 7:10–17

The head priest Amaziah scolded Amos

7:10a Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,

Then Amaziah the ⌊chief⌋ priest of ⌊the temple⌋ of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam the king of Israel. ⌊Amaziah⌋ said,
-or-
⌊There was⌋ a sacrifice giver/burner called Amaziah. ⌊He was the big⌋ sacrifice giver/burner ⌊at the house of prayer⌋ of Bethel. ⌊Amaziah⌋ sent ⌊someone⌋ to king Jeroboam of Israel ⌊to tell him this ⌋ :

7:10b “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel.

“Amos is plotting against you (sing.) right inside the house of Israel.
-or-
“Amos is planning to do bad things against you ⌊king Jeroboam⌋ right in the middle of the kingdom of Israel.

7:10c The land cannot bear all his words,

⌊The people of⌋ the land cannot contain all his words.
-or-
The words of Amos ⌊are too dangerous for the people of⌋ the land to ⌊hear⌋ .
-or-

⌊The people of this⌋ country may be frightened by all that Amos is saying. ⌊Then they might fight against you the king⌋ .
