8:17a And I sent them to Iddo, the leader at Casiphia,

Then I sent them to Iddo, the leader in a place called Casiphia.

⌊When they came to me,⌋ I sent them on a mission to go to Casiphia to find Iddo, the head/chief ⌊of a community of the descendants of Levi⌋ there.

8:17b with a message for him and his kinsmen, the temple servants at Casiphia,

I told/gave them the words to tell Iddo and his brothers/relatives who all ⌊lived⌋ in Casiphia, who were also temple servants ⌊from the clan of Levi⌋.

I told them to tell/ask him and the other descendants of Levi with him, who were temple workers,

8:17c that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.

They must tell them to send us (excl.) workers for the temple of our (incl.) God.

to send some men who would go with us to serve in the house of our God ⌊in Jerusalem⌋.
