8:20a So he said to Jether, his firstborn, “Get up and kill them.”

Then he turned to his oldest son Jether and said, “Kill them.”(dual)

8:20b But the young man did not draw his sword;

But Jether did not pull out his sword

But Jether did not remove his sword ⌊from the sheath⌋ .

8:20c he was fearful because he was still a youth.

because he was still a young boy and was afraid.

He was still young and did not have enough courage ⌊to kill them⌋ .
