3:16a Now Ehud had made for himself a double-edged sword a cubit long.

Ehud had made a sword that was a forearm length long and sharp on both sides.

Ehud had a knife that could be used to cut with both sides. It was fifty (50) centimeters long.

3:16b He strapped it to his right thigh under his cloak

He tied it under his clothes, against his right thigh.

He fastened it on his right leg under his clothes.
