19:26a Therefore their inhabitants, devoid of power, are dismayed and ashamed.
Their people have lost their power. They are discouraged and ashamed.

19:26b They are like plants in the field,
They are as weak/short-lived as plants in the field,

How brief is their life, like that of wild plants.

as defenseless as young green grass.

They are like grass that sprouts on the roof of a house
