16:10a Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria.

Later, King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet King Tiglath-Pileser of Assyria.

Afterwards, Ahaz king ⌊of Judah⌋ visited Damascus ⌊city⌋ to see the Assyrian king/emperor Tiglath-Pileser.

16:10b On seeing the altar in Damascus,

In Damascus Ahaz saw a ⌊pagan⌋ altar.

⌊While he was⌋ there, he saw a platform for burning animals/sacrifices ⌊to honor/please⌋ ⌊their false/pagan pagan god⌋ .

16:10c King Ahaz sent Uriah the priest a model of the altar

So he sent a drawing/illustration of the altar to Uriah the priest ⌊of Yahweh⌋ ,

Ahaz had one of his men bring/take a picture/drawing of that platform ⌊in Damascus⌋ ⌊back⌋ to Uriah the priest ⌊in Jerusalem⌋ .
