10:32a In those days the LORD began to reduce the size of Israel.

At that time Yahweh began to cut off ⌊parts/pieces of territory/land⌋ from Israel.

During the time ⌊that Jehu was king⌋ , Yahweh started making the land of Israel smaller.

10:32b Hazael defeated the Israelites throughout their territory

King Hazael defeated the people of Israel ⌊and took⌋ many parts of their land.

Hazael ⌊king of Aram/Syria⌋ conquered the Israelites ⌊and took⌋ much of their land/territory.
