Section 9:30-37

Jezebel was put to death

9:30a Now when Jehu arrived in Jezreel,

Then Jehu went to Jezreel, ⌊the city of the kings of Israel⌋ .

-or-

⌊After these events,⌋ Jehu rode/drove to Jezreel ⌊city⌋ .

9:30b Jezebel heard of it.

When Jezebel ⌊the mother of King Joram⌋ heard this,

-or-

⌊Jezebel the queen mother was in the palace there.⌋ Somebody told her what had happened.

9:30c So she painted her eyes,

she put makeup/kohl on/around her eyes

-or-

She made her eyes look beautiful

9:30d adorned her head,

and made her hair look good/nice.

-or-

and fixed/styled her hair ⌊to look/appear attractive⌋ .

9:30e and looked down from a window.

Then she looked out/through the/a window, ⌊waiting⌋ .

-or-

Then she stood at one of the palace windows and looked down ⌊into the street⌋ .
