22:43a And Jehoshaphat walked in all the ways of his father Asa;

He/Jehoshaphat acted/lived in the same way that his father Asa had done.
-or-
He/Jehoshaphat followed his father Asa’s ⌊good⌋ example in everything.

22:43b he did not turn away from them,

He never stopped living/behaving in that ⌊good⌋ way.
-or-
He did not turn away from it.

22:43b but did what was right in the eyes of the LORD.

He did things/deeds that Yahweh considers to be right.
-or-
Yahweh was pleased by the good/right way he/Jehoshaphat lived.

22:43c The high places, however, were not removed;

However, he did not remove the hilltop shrines.
-or-
However, Jehoshaphat did not have the local places of worship destroyed.

22:43d the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

So the people still made sacrifices and burned incense at those shrines.
-or-
The people ⌊of Judah⌋ kept on sacrificing animals and burning sweet-smelling spices ⌊on the altars⌋ in those places.
