21:4a So Ahab went to his palace, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had told him,
Then Ahab went ⌊back⌋ to his house/palace. He was irritated and angry because Naboth of Jezreel had said to him,

So Ahab felt irritated and went home. He was very annoyed that Naboth had refused
21:4b “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.”
“I will not give/sell you my family land.”

to let him have ⌊the land⌋ that he/Naboth had inherited/received from his ancestors.

Ahab was very irritated by Naboth’s refusal to give him the land. He went back to his house/palace in anger/fury.

So Ahab went home feeling furious. He was very annoyed that Naboth of Jezreel would not give him the family land/vineyard that he had inherited.
21:4c He lay down on his bed, turned his face away, and refused to eat.
He lay down on his bed and turned his face away ⌊from everyone⌋. He would/did not eat any food.

He went to his room to lie down. Then he hid his face and refused to eat anything.
