SIL Translator’s Notes on 1 Kings 8:66

8:66a On the fifteenth day Solomon sent the people away.

The day after that, ⌊the king⌋ sent the people away.
-or-
When it was over/finished, Solomon told the people to go home.

8:66b So they blessed the king and went home,

The people spoke words of blessing/peace to the king and then went home.
-or-
The people ⌊said goodbye⌋ to him, asking God to bless him. Then they went back to their homes.

8:66c joyful and glad in heart for all the good things that the LORD had done

They rejoiced over all the good things Yahweh had done
-or-
They were very glad about all the good things Yahweh had done

8:66d for His servant David and for His people Israel.

for David his servant and Israel his people.
-or-
for his servant David and for the people of Israel, who belonged to him.
