5:12a And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as He had promised him.

Yahweh had made Solomon wise, just as he had promised to.

5:12b There was peace between Hiram and Solomon,

So Solomon and Hiram were at peace,

5:12c and the two of them made a treaty.

and the two men made a treaty ⌊of peace/friendship⌋.

They agreed ⌊that their countries would not fight one another⌋.
