30:7a Do not be like your fathers and brothers

Do not act as your parents and your fellow Israelites ⌊acted⌋.

You must not behave in the ways your parents and the other Israel people ⌊behaved⌋.

30:7b who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their fathers,

They were not loyal to Yahweh who is their ancestors’ God.

Those people were not faithful to Yahweh, the God of their grandparents.

30:7c so that He made them an object of horror,

People ⌊from the surrounding nations⌋ are horrified when they see how God has punished them,

⌊As a result⌋ Yahweh brought punishment on them. ⌊When people from other nations saw what has happened to them⌋ they were shocked.

30:7d as you can see.

as you can plainly see.
