The land itself is now called in as a witness to hear the LORD pronounce his judgment upon Jehoiachin.

O land, land, land is translated “O my country, my country” by Traduction œcuménique de la Bible and Bible en français courant. Calling on the land three times could convey a sense of impatience or dismay, or be a formal way to get its attention, or possibly simply be for emphasis. If translators find the repetition unnatural, they should look for a way to emphasize the seriousness here, as in “I call on the land itself to listen to this word from the LORD.” This model should also be helpful for languages that cannot personify or directly address nonpersons like the land.
