They will long translates the Hebrew idiom “they will lift up their souls.” The same idiom is used in 44.14 (Revised Standard Version “they desire”). The meaning is to desire strongly.
Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch places together verses 26-27 and translates as follows:
• I will take you and your mother away by force into a foreign land. There both of you will die. You will never see your homeland again, though you long for it very much.
