Translation commentary on Deuteronomy 31:23

The LORD commissioned Joshua the son of Nun: see verse 14. For a detailed account see Num 27.15-23. Translators should find a strong term such as “gave authority to Joshua,” to indicate the importance of Moses’ action.

Be strong and of good courage: see verse 6.

You shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to give them: instead of children of Israel, “Israelites” (New Revised Standard Version) or “the people of Israel” should be used. And instead of bring many languages will prefer “take.”

I will be with you: see verse 8.
