The Greek that is translated as “earn their own living” in English is translated in these verses in the Protestant Mandarin Chinese Union Version with a historical Chinese idiom: huíxīn zhuǎnyì (自食其力) or “support oneself (lit. “feed oneself with own strength”).” (Source: Toshikazu S.
