2and gave him strength to rule all things.
And gave him strength to rule all things: See 9.2-3. In Gen 1.26, 28, humanity is given authority over all creatures; here the author points out that Adam’s sin did not take away that authority. Strength in this context refers not only to physical strength, but to intelligence and authority. “Power” may be a better choice of words, as in Contemporary English Version with “and gave him the power to rule everything.”
