Do not shrink from visiting a sick man: To shrink from doing something is to hesitate, out of fear or discomfort. Good News Translation, New Revised Standard Version, New English Bible, and Revised English Bible say “Do not hesitate to visit the sick.” We can suggest no better model.
Because for such deeds you will be loved: Good News Translation “You will be loved for things like these” not only is a good translation, but also a good way to close the entire discussion. This line may be rendered in the active voice; for example, “People will love [or, respect] you for doing such things.”
