Good News Translation‘s paragraph break here is appropriate.

With all flesh, both man and beast, and upon sinners seven times more: The next verse will name eight sources of misery for people as well as animals. Good News Translation‘s wording of verse 8 prepares the reader for that list: “Here is what all creatures, both human and animal, must face….” The second line interrupts the thought, but ben Sira does not want it forgotten that no matter how bad things may be for all people, things are worse for sinners. Seven times more means “many times worse,” and may be translated that way. Good News Translation puts the second line in parentheses followed by a colon, which is a good way to handle it. Contemporary English Version offers another good model by placing it first:

• The troubles that sinners have
will be seven times worse
than those of other people.
Any living creature [all flesh] ….
