Many persons regard a loan as a windfall: Literally, a windfall is fruit that falls from a tree being blown by the wind; you do not have to work at picking it. The Greek is literally “something found.” Good News Translation translates “something they found and can keep”; Contemporary English Version has “is theirs to keep.” Either is possible.

And cause trouble to those who help them: The more general term trouble is better here than Good News Translation‘s more specific word “embarrassment,” although “embarrassment” is not actually wrong. For the whole line Contemporary English Version is similar to Revised Standard Version with “and this causes trouble when others try to help them.”
