2:11a The LORD raises His voice in the presence of His army.

Yahweh shouts out to the army he is leading.

With a loud cry/shout, Yahweh addresses/commands his warriors/soldiers.

2:11b Indeed, His camp is very large,

For his army is enormous/vast,
-or-
They are/form an extremely great/mighty host,

2:11c for mighty are those who obey His command.

a very strong one/army that does as he commands.
-or-
a powerful one/army that follows/fulfills his orders.

2:11d For the Day of the LORD is great

The day of Yahweh is awesome
-or-
How great that day of Yahweh’s ⌊judgment⌋ !

2:11e and very dreadful.

and most terrible.
-or-
It will be so awesome

2:11f Who can endure it?

Will anyone be able to live through it?
-or-
that no one will survive!
