For in the presence of the people, Good News Translation has “While all the people were gathered around.” This is a smoother translation. It says what the Greek says, and says it very well.

The day she left may be rendered “the day she left Bethulia.”

Until the moment of her speaking to them may be translated “until she returned and told them what had happened.”
