God did not choose them: These ancient giants were like the peoples mentioned in verses 22-23, in that they were not chosen to be God’s people or the possessors of wisdom. Good News Translation helpfully states what they were not chosen to be (“his people”).

Give them the way to knowledge: The way to knowledge is the same phrase used in verse 20 (see the comments there). At that point Good News Translation translated “the way to knowledge,” rather than the literal “the way of knowledge” used here. A better rendering for the whole clause here is “show them the way to knowledge.”
