Another paragraph break is appropriate here (so Revised Standard Version, Good News Bible).

After him, the third was the victim of their sport: After him may be rendered “When he died” (Contemporary English Version). For of their sport, see the comments on verse 7.

When it was demanded, he quickly put out his tongue and courageously stretched forth his hands: New English Bible and Revised English Bible seem to interpret the sticking out of the tongue not as compliance with a demand, but as defiance. They translate When it was demanded as “When the question was put to him,” that is, “Will you eat the pork?” However, most scholars agree that this clause means the torturers asked the third brother to stick out his tongue, so they could cut it off, as they did that of the first brother (verse 4; compare 15.33), and this is what we recommend to translators. Some translators may find it more natural to speak of “arms” rather than hands. He offered his hands to be cut off, but he could hardly do it without stretching out his arms as well.

Alternative models for this verse are:

• When he died, the king’s men began to have fun torturing the third brother. They told him to stick out his tongue, and he did so without hesitation. He also boldly held out his hands [or, arms]….

• … They said to him, “Stick out your tongue!” He immediately did this. He also….
