6:15a When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early in the morning,

Early in the morning, the prophet’s servant got up and went outside.

-or-

Early the next morning, Elisha’s servant got up and went out ⌊of the house⌋ .

-or-

When the sun rose, the servant of Elisha rose and stepped out ⌊of the house where they were staying⌋ .

6:15b an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city.

There he saw the horses and chariots, and the army surrounding the city!

-or-

He saw ⌊the Aramean⌋ soldiers with their horses and war carts. They were all around the city!

-or-

He realized that the town was ⌊completely⌋ surrounded by an army with horses and chariots.

6:15c So he asked Elisha, “Oh, my master, what are we to do?”

Elisha’s servant said to him, “My master, this is terrible! What are we (incl.) going to do?”

-or-

⌊So⌋ he ⌊went back to Elisha and⌋ exclaimed, “Chief/Sir, we (incl.) are finished/doomed! What shall we (incl.) do?”

-or-

The servant ⌊went back to Elisha and⌋ told him that they had no way to escape.
