SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Kings 24:20

24:20a For because of the anger of the LORD,

Because he/Yahweh was angry

-or-

Yahweh was angry ⌊with them⌋ , and so

24:20b all this happened in Jerusalem and Judah,

he/Yahweh allowed this ⌊disaster⌋ to happen to Jerusalem and ⌊the whole land of⌋ Judah.

-or-

the people of⌋ Jerusalem and ⌊the rest of⌋ Judah experienced these ⌊terrible⌋ things.

24:20c until He finally banished them from His presence.

Finally he pushed/forced them away from him.

-or-

Finally, Yahweh sent them far away from his ⌊protection/land⌋ .

24:20d And Zedekiah also rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Zedekiah refused to be loyal/faithful to the king of Babylon.

-or-

Then later, ⌊King⌋ Zedekiah led a revolt/rebellion against the king of Babylon.
