16:2a Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king,
At the time he became king, Ahaz was twenty years old.
-or-
Ahaz started to rule ⌊Judah⌋ at the age of twenty.
16:2b and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years.
He ruled as king in ⌊the city of⌋ Jerusalem for sixteen years.
-or-
He ruled ⌊Judah⌋ for sixteen years. Jerusalem was his capital/chief city.
16:2c And unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD his God.
Ahaz did not act like David his ancestor. He/Ahaz did not do what was good in the sight of Yahweh his God.
-or-
He acted very differently from his ancestor ⌊King⌋ David. He did not act in a way that was pleasing/acceptable to Yahweh his God.
-or-
Ahaz did things that displeased Yahweh the God of his ⌊people⌋ . He did not follow the ⌊good⌋ example of his forefather/predecessor David.
