Behold, I am still weary in mind and very weak in my spirit, and not even a little strength is left in me, because of the great fear with which I have been terrified this night: Compare Dan 7.15. For Behold see the previous verse. I am still weary in mind may be rendered “I am mentally exhausted” (Good News Bible). Very weak in my spirit means the same as I am still weary in mind, so Contemporary English Version combines these two clauses, saying “My mind is exhausted.” The clause not even a little strength is left in me may be translated “my body is completely worn out” (Contemporary English Version). Because of the great fear with which I have been terrified this night may be expressed as “because of the terrible fears that I have experienced this night,” “because of the terrifying things I have seen tonight,” or even “because of the things I have seen tonight that have terrified me.” Good News Bible provides a good model for this verse.
