The queen of Sheba visited King Solomon

9:1a Now when the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon,

When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon’s reputation

King Solomon became very well known. The queen of Sheba heard about him.

9:1b she came to test him with difficult questions.

she came to Jerusalem. She came to test Solomon with difficult questions.

She came to Jerusalem City to ask him many questions that are not easy to answer.

9:1c She arrived in Jerusalem with a very large caravan—

She arrived ⌊in Jerusalem⌋ with a very large group of her people.

She arrived ⌊in Jerusalem City⌋ with many of her people.

9:1d with camels bearing spices, gold in abundance, and precious stones.

She came with camels that were carrying spices and much gold and precious stones.

She brought camels with loads of spices on their back. They also carried lots of gold and valuable jewels.

9:1e So she came to Solomon

When she came to Solomon
-or-
When she ⌊arrived in Jerusalem she⌋ met with King Solomon.

9:1f and spoke with him about all that was on her mind.

she talked with him about everything she had on her mind.

She asked him all the questions she was thinking about.
