SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Chronicles 24:22

24:22a Thus King Joash failed to remember the kindness that Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had extended to him.

King Joash did not remember that Jehoiada, Zechariah’s father, had been kind to him.
-or-
King Joash forgot that Jehoiada, the father of Zechariah, had always been a loyal friend,

24:22b Instead, Joash killed Jehoiada’s son.

So he killed his son
-or-
so he killed Jehoiada’s son.

24:22c As he lay dying, Zechariah said,

who in the time of his death said,
-or-
As Zechariah was dying, he prayed to

24:22d “May the LORD see this and call you to account.”

“May Yahweh see this and punish you(plur) for it.”
-or-
God to look at what they were doing to him and punish them for it.
