But as his will in heaven may be, so he will do: Translators following the author in avoiding direct references to God cannot follow Good News Bible here with the use of “Lord.” Another possible model for this verse is:

• But whatever happens to us will be whatever Heaven [or, the One in Heaven] wants to happen.”
