6:16a He partitioned off the twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling
He/Solomon walled off the back area of the house with cedar wood panels. The place where he built the inside wall/partition was twenty cubits from the house’s back wall.

They took cedar boards and made a separate room ten meters long at the back of the temple.
6:16b to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
He constructed this wall to make an inner room, the very holy/sacred place.

This was for an inner room that was the most holy room of all.
6:16a-b (reordered)
The very holy place was an inner room/sanctuary that was in the rear area of the temple. Workmen separated this room/sanctuary ⌊from the main part/hall of the temple⌋ by building a wall of cedar wood about ten meters from the rear temple wall.
