Section 17:16-27
David prayed to Yahweh
17:16a Then King David went in, sat before the LORD, and said,
So King David went into ⌊the tent⌋ and sat in the presence of Yahweh. He/David told ⌊him/Yahweh⌋ ,
-or-
⌊Because of what Nathan said,⌋ King David went into ⌊the tent he had built for keeping the agreement box⌋ . He/David sat down before Yahweh and prayed ⌊to him/Yahweh⌋ . He/David said,
17:16b “Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my house,
“O Yahweh God, who am I ⌊after all⌋ ? What is my family? ⌊We are not worthy to receive such a promise!⌋
-or-
“Yahweh God, my family and I ⌊are not worthy of what you/God did for us(excl.) ⌋ .
17:16c that You have brought me this far?
⌊Do I deserve⌋ that you have brought me this far? ⌊No!⌋
-or-
⌊I David have not deserved that you⌋ took me ⌊from being a shepherd and⌋ made me ⌊king of Israel⌋ .
