The Greek that is translated as “an offering to God” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with eine heilige Gabe, und damit ihrer Verfügung entzogen or “a holy gift, and thus withdrawn from their disposal.”
