without shifting

The Greek in Colossians 1:23 that in English is either translated as “without shifting (or: “moving”) or “without being shifted (or: “moved”)” (see Translation commentary on Colossians 1:23 and Translation commentary on Colossians 1:23) can be translated in Polish in a way that both possibilities are included: dać się with an infinitive means “to let oneself be…, ” resulting here in the possible “not letting yourselves be moved away from the hope of the gospel.” “There is a force that pushes, and people who do not yield to it.” (Source: Piotr Szuszkiewicz)
