Therefore set your desire on my words; long for them: Good News Translation has “… make my teaching your treasure and joy,” but this is hard to justify. It would be better rendered as “So make it your desire [or, goal] to understand what I am writing here.”

And you will be instructed sounds incomplete in English, so Good News Translation has “and you will be well instructed”; but languages that need a direct object may indicate it as “God’s will.” This can be combined with the first part of the verse in this manner:

• So make it your earnest desire [or, goal] to understand what I am writing here, and you will learn what God’s will is [or, what God wants you to do].
