But the righteous man, though he die early, will be at rest: Contrast this with 3.18. Good News Translation words this in the plural. To “die young” (Good News Translation) does not necessarily mean to die as a child, but to die before a person has had a chance to live a fulfilled life, to die before reaching old age. In English, people say “to die before your time”; other languages have suitable expressions—even idioms—for this. To be at rest means the same as to be “at peace”; see 3.3.
