But thou, our God, art kind and true, patient, and ruling all things in mercy: Good News Translation places the three adjectives “kind and true and patient” in one sentence, and represents ruling all things in mercy in a second sentence. True may also be rendered as “trustworthy” (Contemporary English Version). All things may be rendered “all created things,” “everything in the sky and on the earth,” “the universe” (Good News Translation, Revised Standard Version footnote), or even “the world.”
