Peace be with you: This means more than that they can relax; it is an assurance of safety. So “God will protect you” is a possible alternative.
Bless God forevermore: “Always remember to praise God” (Good News Translation) can be misunderstood. It is not a matter of forgetting a duty. It is a command to Bless God, and it is more than “always” in the sense of “as long as you live”; it is forevermore. The context here would indicate that the shade of praise or blessing intended is giving thanks, as in New American Bible, “Thank God now and forever.”
