Repent: this is directed to the whole church (see comments on “repent” at 2.5).

I will come to you soon: this is a coming for judgment and punishment (see comments on the similar expression in2.5).

And war against them with the sword of my mouth: see the comments at 1.16; 2.12. The glorified Christ will fight against those people who are following the teachings of the Nicolaitans. Instead of the literal sword of my mouth, the meaning may be expressed otherwise: “the sword that comes out of my mouth” (Good News Translation, Revised English Bible). This final clause may also be expressed as “and fight against them with the sword that comes (or, goes) out of my mouth.”
