And he stood on the sand of the sea: as the Revised Standard Version and TEV footnotes show, some Greek manuscripts and early versions have “I stood” and connect this with what follows in chapter 13. But he stood has stronger textual evidence in its favor and should be followed. Again the sea does not indicate a specific sea; so something like Good News Translation “the seashore” or “the beach” may be better.
