And Aaron did so; he set up its lamps to give light in front of the lampstand, as the LORD commanded Moses: Aaron did what the LORD instructed him to do concerning the lamps on the lampstand. Good News Translation combines And Aaron did so with as the LORD commanded Moses, saying simply “Aaron obeyed.” However, the repeated references to a person’s explicit and immediate obedience to the LORD’s instructions is a prominent feature of the texts in the Pentateuch, and such emphasis should be retained in a translation if possible, perhaps by a different device such as word order or an emphatic particle.
